• basically mythology lessons 
  
• racial diversity
  
• LGBT+ awareness
• show that stuff like ADHD and dyslexia don’t have to be problems
• easy to read without being boring for more advanced readers
• good humour
• the movies aren’t a big part of their success
• no swearing/implicit themes
• well-developed characters
• not only a series but multiple series
• show you that anyone can be a hero

why would you not want your child to read these books I don’t understand
